The ticket I bought at Bitola station for my journey to Žabeni. Interestingly the Cyrillic text shows the station name as ЖАБЉАНИ (Zhabljani) rather than ЖАБЕНИ (Zhabeni) as on the timetable and official maps. It's the correct distance though (11 km); the fare is 68 Macedonian Denars (about 1 British Pound), there's a 20% discount for a return ticket. The train guard used his stamp on the outward journey (29-3-23-641, 641 being the train number) and he hand-wrote 642 (the train number) and 29 03 23 on the return. The man in Bitola ticket office spoke some English and didn't seem too surprised when I asked him for this ticket; he went away to check the expected departure time (10:45, written on a piece of paper, versus the scheduled time of 10:30) though later on he came over to me with the time 11:45 written on the same piece of paper! Also, none of the printed station departure and arrival sheets at Bitola showed this train as running through to Žabeni.
