The station frontage at Ciudad Real. This was opened in 1992 when the high speed line between Madrid and Sevilla opened. As well as these standard gauge services, the station also has broad gauge terminal platforms for services between Puertollano and Manzanares. The new station replaced the original 1880 broad gauge station which was in a different location.
