Beyond the present operational limit at Žabeni, the line has been fully refurbished all the way to the Greek border south of the village of Kremenica. I had visited the then-disused station there on 11/05/2004 (see photos starting here) so didn't go there again: satellite maps suggest that no station has been provided there. This is the view at the level crossing, about 1.5 km north of Kremenica station site, looking southwards towards Kremenica and Greece. I had driven across this level crossing and turned round in the village to take photos, and I had seen a policeman on patrol, perhaps not surprising this close to the Greek border. He flagged me down, fortunately he spoke some English and he could see that is was a hire car. He asked me if I was lost, but I said no, I just wanted to take some photographs at the railway level crossing. He accepted this and, effectively with his blessing, I stopped clear of the crossing - he could see me from where he was - to take these photographs.
