Looking northwards, the 1860 L&NWR route is on the left leading to Barmoor Clough tunnel, and the 1801 Chapel Turnpike (nowadays the A6) is to the right. The route of the Peak Forest Tramway is clearly visible in between the two, following the road around the side of the hill. This view is from the two-arched bridge that takes an un-named lane over the railway routes. It seems likely that the Tramway was slightly realigned here when the L&NWR was built.
