RENFE Class 130 set 001 at Madrid Charmartín loading passengers for the 07.08 departure to León, Oviedo and Gijón, which I will take as far as Oviedo (11.54). This is a dual gauge dual voltage Talgo set, which will run on the standard gauge on 25 kV from here to the gauge changer at Vilecha, just south of León, about 2 hours away. From there it will run on the Iberian (1668 mm) gauge 3 kV dc tracks over the Pajares pass to Oviedo. The Pajares route is due to be replaced by a 25 km tunnel "soon".
