Exiting Marsh Lock into the Weaver Navigation: we are heading straight on towards Frodsham and Dutton; to the left the Weaver Navigation parallels the Manchester Ship Canal but at the slightly higher level, to Weston Point Docks at Runcorn. Note the railway-style semaphore signals at either end of the lock: a feature of all the Weaver Navigation locks, and originally used by lockkeepers to manage the flow of traffic, they have been disused for a long time.
