Looking northwards from Bellhouse Lane near Moore, showing two disused railways marked by lines of trees. To the left is the course of the Grand Junction Railway, opened in 1837 between Birmingham and Warrington. To the right is the course of the Birkenhead Joint Railway, opened in 1850 between Chester and Warrington (Walton Jn). Both lines closed here in 1893 when the Manchester Ship Canal Railway Deviations were opened.
