Looking towards Longridge, the buffer stop marks the limit of operations until Deepdale coal depot ceased to be served in the early 1990s. This is about mid-way between Skeffington Road and Blackpool Road. Beyond here closed in 1980 when traffic to the Courtaulds plant at Red Scar ceased.
