Looking northwards across the deck of the bridge that carried the Langwith Junction to Beighton branch of the LD&ECR/GCR (line F on map) over the footpath that connects Rother Valley Country Park with Rother Valley Way. Out of sight, beyond the fence, is the buffer stop of the so-called Westthorpe Run Round. This utilised about the first third of a mile of this line to ease the reversing of freight trains at Beighton Junction; it has been seen to be very overgrown in recent times, and is assumed to be out of use.
