With horse racing taking place at Flemington, special trains were working from Flinders Street to Flemington Racecourse station. This station is at the end of a branch from Newmarket, and only sees trains on dates when racing is taking place, so I was fortunate to be able to cover this line. There is an intermediate station on the branch at Showgrounds, I had done the line that far on my previous visit.
