Looking roughly eastwards from Moss Lane bridge in Cadishead along the Cheshire Lines Committee railway between Manchester Central and Liverpool Central via Warrington Central. The original 1873 alignment went straight on here; the "wiggle" to the right is the start of Manchester Ship Canal Railway Deviation No.5, opened in 1893 to take the line over the Ship Canal between Irlam and Flixton. Irlam station can just be seen in the distance.
