Looking westwards from the B5158 Flixton Road, along the Cheshire Lines Committee railway between Manchester Central and Liverpool Central via Warrington Central. The original 1873 alignment went straight on here; the "wiggle" to the left is the start of Manchester Ship Canal Railway Deviation No.5, opened in 1893 to take the line over the Ship Canal between here and Irlam.
