This bridge is clearly a replacement for the original, but it does mark where the A6144 Lymm - Manchester road crosses the pre-1893 alignment of the Glazebrook Jn - Skelton Jn line. This area was covered in sidings from Partington Jn for many years after the new post-1893 alignment came into use.
