Looking south-eastwards from the Macclesfield Old Road overbridge towards Buxton. The newer A54 road is visible ascending from left to right in the distance. The course of the short branch, closed in 1902, to Goyt Colliery (out of view to the right) can be seen below the rising road alignment. Long since gone, a set of buffer stops in the foreground had marked the end of regular working between 1892 and 1958.
