Friday 27 January 2023 Fifth day of the PTG "Costa del Alco" 5-day railtour: Córdoba - Espeluy - Jaén - Espeluy - Manzanares - Aranjuez - Madrid Atocha Cercanías - Madrid Chamartín. We were supposed to cover the east curve avoiding Espeluy but this was removed, apparently for operational reasons.
In the extended lunch break at Jaén, two of us walked up to and along the first section of the Vía Verde del Aceite, which runs for some 120 km to Puente Genil. I cycled the central section of this at Christmas 2024, see photos.
