The Pottery Souk at Safi. Like any Moroccan town Safi has its Souks (markets) but as Safi is industrial rather than touristic they are much more "local" than in places such as Marrakech. Safi is famous for its pottery, some of which is visible here.

The start of the PTG railtour today was delayed by problems with one of the carriages. Here DK-555 and a DI class loco stand under the palm trees at Safi station whilst the carriage is being worked on.

Perhaps inevitably, DH-372 stands at the head of the PTG railtour at Safi, after the carriage problems had been fixed.

DH-372 at the head of the PTG Railtour is passed at Bouskoura by E-1356 on a rare passenger working for this freight loco. The E-1351 series are geared for freight duties and have a much higher tractive effort - and correspondingly lower maximum speed - than the outwardly-similar E-1301 series.
