Looking north-eastwards, this is a view of the original 1881 approach to Vigo Urzáiz: the route, which closed in 2011, was just to the left of the buildings, above and to the right of the main road. The old station was behind and to the left of the camera. The present, 2015, station is below the level of the car park and heads straight on through the hill in an 8 km tunnel. The cranes of Vigo harbour, near Guixar station, are visible far left. In the distance a footbridge crosses the road, a later photograph is taken looking back from this viewpoint.
