Požarevac is where trains between Beograd and Knjaževac via Majdanpek change from electric to diesel traction: JŽ diesel locomotive 666-004 has just backed onto train 971. The route onwards from Požarevac to Majdanpek only sees one pair of trains per day. Class 666 was originally used to haul Tito's famous "blue train" but now sees general service.
