Looking southwards from the A580 East Lancashire Road bridge over the Great Central Railway route towards Glazebrook, which operated from 1884 to 1965, and whose cutting is to the left. The HS2 planned route passes under the A580 to the right of this viewpoint, running roughly parallel to the disused railway.
