The Glazebrook East Jn to Skelton Jn line crosses Cadishead Way and (to the right) the Manchester Ship Canal here in Cadishead. The railway was disused by 1984 but the route is "protected", hence the new underbridge being built in 2005 - so it has never seen a train. The railway was Ship Canal Railway Deviation No.4, opened to traffic in 1893.
